Job summary

Oliva Gibbs LLP is seeking an Oil and Gas Title Attorney to join our Appalachia team. The full-time role focuses on title examinations, drafting opinions, and due diligence for oil and gas transactions across OH, WV, and PA.

Hybrid schedule possible for those near our offices, with collaboration across senior attorneys to deliver precise, timely client solutions. Candidates must have a JD and an active license, a strong compliance mindset, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Must have JD and license with at least one year drafting title opinions for lands in OH, WV, or PA.
• Familiarity preparing large, unit-wide division orders with tract and allocation factors.
• Ethical practice and client confidentiality are essential.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and strong organizational skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct title examinations to determine ownership related to oil and gas properties.
• Draft title opinions highlighting defects, liens, or issues impacting ownership or use of property.
• Perform due diligence reviews for oil and gas transactions including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
• Draft, review, and negotiate leases, joint operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements.
• Stay updated on federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with litigation attorneys as needed.
• Work with team to ensure timely, accurate execution of transactions.
• Meet quarterly billable requirement of 450 hours.
