Job summary

ABB is seeking a Strategic Segment Leader for Oil & Gas and Chemical in the United States. You will lead growth strategy, identify early opportunities, and build executive-level relationships with owner/operators, EPCs, consultants, OEMs, and integrators.

In this role, you will establish ABB thought leadership, provide market intelligence, and coordinate cross-business opportunities across Electrification, Motion, and Automation to shape strategy and drive growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years relevant experience required.
• Minimum 5 years of business development, strategic sales, or market development experience.
• Demonstrated Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refining, Midstream, or Chemical industry experience.
• Solid understanding of industrial power distribution, electrification, automation, or related technologies.
• Proven hunting skills and ability to create pipeline from new opportunities.
• Experience engaging executive-level customer stakeholders.
• Travel to the United States approximately 40-60%.
• Candidates must have work authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute ABB's Oil & Gas and Chemical segment growth strategy across the United States.
• Identify, qualify, and develop strategic growth opportunities before projects enter formal procurement stages.
• Build executive-level relationships with owner/operators, EPCs, consultants, OEMs, and integrators.
• Establish ABB thought leadership through conferences, trade associations, and industry engagement.
• Provide market intelligence and market insights to the sales organization.
• Partner with district sales teams to transition qualified opportunities for execution.
• Coordinate cross-business opportunities spanning Electrification, Motion, and Automation portfolios.
• Serve as the Voice of the Market and shape ABB strategy through customer insight.
