Job summary

Ohio University is seeking an Executive MPA (OEMPA) Adjunct Instructor to deliver online courses through the Voinovich School of Leadership & Public Affairs. This fully remote posting may hire up to three instructors.

Candidates must hold a graduate degree in business, social sciences, education, or related fields; show experience teaching online or hybrid courses; and demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Must hold a graduate degree in Business Administration; Social Sciences; Education; or related fields.
• Applicants with a MA must have a minimum of 7 years of experience.
• Applicants with a PhD must have a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
• Strong organizational and computer skills.
• Experience teaching online, hybrid, or in-person courses at undergraduate/graduate level.
• At least two years of relevant experience in program evaluation, HR, economic development, public budgeting, or data analytics.

Responsibilities

• The MPA instructor will engage students and moderate weekly discussions; provide feedback; assist with virtual office hours; support a positive learning environment; and ensure timely grading.

Job Responsibilities

• The Master of Public Administration (MPA) instructor will engage students in learning that meets the course and weekly learning objectives; moderate weekly discussions and encourage quality participation from students; provide meaningful feedback to students on discussions; provide tutorial assistance during established virtual office hours when applicable; assist in creating a positive and supportive learning environment for students; and provide timely grading of assignments and discussions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Candidate must hold a graduate degree in any of the following fields: Business Administration; Social Sciences; Behavioral Sciences; Education; Research Methods
• Applicants with a Master’s degree (MA): Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience
• Applicants with a Doctoral degree (PhD): Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
• Strong organizational and computer skills.
• Previous experience teaching in-person, hybrid, or online courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
• At least two (2) years of relevant/related experience in one or more of the following fields: program evaluation, human resources, economic development, public finance, financial management, public budgeting, non-profit leadership, data analytics/statistics

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Public Administration or related field
• Evidence of excellent graduate teaching.
• Commitment to active learning and use of technology in the learning process.
