Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Director for Offsite Manufacturing (OSM) in Decatur, AL. You will lead preconstruction activities, develop OSM strategies across business units, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize logistics and costs.

You will oversee the OSM team, manage SOWs, and coordinate with procurement, supply chain, and operations to deliver innovative offsite solutions while upholding Turner’s safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field, with minimum 8 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles.
• Ability to build long-lasting client relationships and win work.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specs, and schedules.
• Leadership experience across regions with coaching and mentoring.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proactive, energetic, and able to drive initiatives to completion.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee preconstruction activities for Offsite Manufacturing (OSM) strategies.
• Identify opportunities to expand OSM services across units and projects.
• Develop and manage the OSM Precon team and resources.
• Coordinate with project teams on constructability, quantity takeoffs, and cost analysis.
• Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to develop staffing and sourcing strategies.
• Oversee OSM Scopes of Work and responsibility matrices with vendors.
