Qualifications

  • LPN licensure required in NY.
  • 1–2 years as an LPN preferred.
  • Phlebotomy and IV skills preferred.
  • Competency checklist completed within 3 months.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and escorts the patient for exams and procedures.
  • Explains treatment procedures, medications, diets and physician instructions to patients.
  • Administers medications, including injections and IV therapy within licensure scope.
  • Provides basic patient care and treatments (wounds, catheterizations, dressings).
  • Collects, labels and processes specimens accurately.
  • Cleans and prepares medical treatment rooms for patient visits.
  • Assembles and uses equipment appropriate to medical practice.
  • Schedules follow-up appointments for patients as needed.
  • Enters patient information into the EMR accurately and timely.
  • Manages physician's work environment and clerical tasks for patients.
