Qualifications

• Must hold a current New York LPN license.
• High school Diploma or equivalent.
• Active BLS card from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic for vitals and instructions.
• Knowledge of basic biology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff.
• Ability to work independently and pay attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Greet patient, escort to exam room.
• Prepare patients for exams and procedures.
• Explain treatments, medications, diets, and physician instructions.
• Administer medications including injections; IV therapy as allowed.
• Provide basic patient care such as wound care or catheterization.
• Collect, label, and process specimens accurately.
• Clean and prepare treatment rooms for visits.
• Assemble and use equipment for medical practice.
• Schedule follow-up appointments.
• Communicate delays when necessary.
• Enter patient information into the computer accurately.
• Manage the physician's desktop tasks efficiently.
• Provide clerical support (appointments, pre-authorizations, phones).
• Manage medical inventory and supplies based on par levels.
• Work under supervision of physician or RN.
• Perform other related duties.
