Job summary

Marshall Medical Centers seeks a Clinic Assistant Offsite to support a physician practice by collecting and registering lab specimens, scheduling tests, and pre-authorizing diagnostics. You will liaison between the practice and MMC, ensuring timely communication of results via EMR or fax.

The role requires high school completion, healthcare experience preferred, and basic computer skills; phlebotomy certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires at least a high school diploma or GED; healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience with phlebotomy is preferred; strong computer skills required.
• Must communicate professionally and compassionately with patients.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patients for diagnostic services at physician request.
• Verifies insurance coverage and pre-authorization requirements.
• Communicates appointment details and preparation instructions to patients.
• Coordinates with referring providers to ensure necessary documentation is available.
• Ensures providers receive timely results via EMR or fax.
• Registers lab patients and ensures accurate data entry in AccuReg daily.
• Prints medical records as needed to support continuity of care.
• Assists with referrals to MMC services such as PT or CCC.
• Collects blood specimens via venipuncture or finger stick per guidelines.
• Prepares other specimens for transportation to the laboratory.
• Maintains requested statistics, clinical documentation, and reports.
