Job summary

AVANGRID POWER, LLC seeks a Wind Farm Operator to coordinate offshore transfers of personnel and equipment from onshore to offshore sites via marine vessels and helicopters. The role ensures readiness of work orders, tools, staff qualifications, and favorable sea/wind conditions before transit, while monitoring turbine status through SCADA to identify and address issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years in marine coordination or control room operator role.
• Knowledge of SCADA or Marine Control systems.
• Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to gain authorization under High Voltage Safety Rules.
• Experience with VHF radio telecommunication systems.
• Knowledge of marine, aviation and port regulations.
• Good IT skills with MS Office.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to learn.
• Pro-active and diligent; able to work under pressure and to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate transfer of personnel and equipment by vessels and helicopters safely and cost-effectively.
• Assist planning of work schedules to maximize use of personnel and transfer resources.
• Establish access parameters based on weather, sea and light conditions for go/no-go decisions.
• Monitor weather to ensure safety and optimize offshore working time.
• Coordinate HV switching with National control center / Site HV Manager as needed.
• Execute HV switching operations as required.
• Initiate and coordinate project emergency response and ERP actions.
• Ensure adherence to H&S procedures for maritime/offshore work.
• Act as Operational Controller under WTSR and monitor WTG SCADA alarms.
• Maintain records of daily activities, vessel usage, and weather conditions.
• Provide data to support short- and long-term maintenance planning.
• Report site activity updates to management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Siemens and other contractors for offshore logistics.
• Strive for cost efficiency through safe marine control procedures.
• Coordinate vessel positions to streamline mobilization/demobilization.
• Oversee all offshore marine traffic and personnel movements using PTS/VTS systems.
• Ensure personnel offshore are certified and qualified.
