- Reporting to the SOV Shift Manager, the Offshore Shift Supervisor is the on-site operational leader for offshore wind turbine service activities at the Empire Wind project.
- This role provides direct supervision of offshore technicians servicing and maintaining the V236 turbine fleet.
- Take responsibility for critical safety and operational decisions, escalating issues as required.
- Ensure full compliance with Vestas’ Health and Safety Management System and all applicable offshore HSE requirements.
- Serve as a role model for offshore technicians, setting expectations for safe behavior, professionalism, and operational discipline.
- Review Approved Written Procedures, Risk Assessments, and supporting documentation prior to work execution.
- Act as the primary offshore operational interface between the customer, SOV crew, site leadership, and field technicians during active shifts.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering safe, compliant, and reliable offshore operations while managing expectations and constraints.
- Monitor weather forecasts continuously and assess operational impacts on transfers, turbine access, and task execution.
- Prepare, approve, and communicate daily transfer plans and ensure alignment with vessel operations and site activities.
- Supervise and coordinate offshore operations in close alignment with the SOV Shift Manager, providing mutual operational support as needed.
- Actively contribute to daily, weekly, and long-term service operations planning with a focus on safety, efficiency, and resource optimization.
Requirements
- Electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic experience with a strong desire to further develop skills in these fields.
- Must have completed TBC 300 Core & Specific tasks on any platform or be recognized as an A-Level Technician.
- Must have nominated as an AT-LT, or have a reasonable path to achieving AT-LT status within 6 months of hire.
- Ability to demonstrate advanced working knowledge of industrial safety practices and protocols (e.g., confined space, energy isolation).
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a commercial–industrial mechanical or electrical environment, preferably with wind turbines.
- Strong understanding of VOB SCADA operations and Toolkit.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and IT tools (smartphones, computers, etc.).
- Able to safely work in adverse climates and environments.
- Valid driver’s license, ability to obtain a passport, and willingness to travel.
- Must be capable of leading and gaining the trust of a diverse team.
- Comfortable handling customer requests and interactions.
