Job summary

Equinor in offshore energy generation seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the operations, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment rated 600V or above. You will read and interpret electrical drawings, coordinate with a skilled maintenance team, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in wind farm and utility environments.

With 7+ years of field experience, you will own commissioning activities, support design reviews, and perform root-cause analyses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 7+ years of full-time experience commissioning, operating, and/or maintaining electrical equipment rated 600V+
  • Experience in wind farm, power plant, steam generation, utility environment, or regulated industry
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic drawings and schematics
  • Familiarity with NERC standards and compliance is a plus
  • Experience with relay protection is a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP Work Management Systems or CMMS

Responsibilities

  • Perform operations, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment used in offshore energy generation
  • Manage routine inspections and corrective work on generators, switchgear, transformers, and HV/LV equipment
  • Maintain accurate inspection and maintenance records
  • Collaborate with maintenance team to deliver maintenance schedules and repairs
  • Support commissioning and delivery of HV and LV equipment, including design reviews, acceptance tests, system walkdowns, handovers
  • Coordinate with suppliers and other disciplines
  • Provide technical expertise and decision-making support to leaders
  • Ensure maintenance tasks are completed efficiently, timely, and to required quality standards
  • Document maintenance history and completion of activities
  • Develop and participate in continuous improvement assessments of electrical maintenance processes
  • Conduct quality assurance activities and assess equipment-failure risks
  • Manage modifications, upgrades, repairs, and new technologies for electrical equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and faults
  • Lead root-cause failure analysis for complex failures
  • Follow electrical safety protocols, use PPE, and report safety concerns or incidents

Job description
