Job summary

MISTRAS Group is seeking a Rope Access Blaster / Painter for offshore work in the Gulf of Mexico. This part-time, on-site role involves preparing surfaces, blasting, and applying coatings to meet project specifications while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of painting and/or blasting experience.
• Knowledge of protective coating systems and SSPC/NACE standards.
• Offshore certifications preferred (e.g., Water Survival, T-HUET).

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently perform blasting and surface preparation activities in accordance with procedures and specifications.
• Properly prepare surfaces for coating and apply paint per Product Data Sheets and project specs.
• Adhere to company safety policies and practice PPE at all times.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe, clean condition and report defects.
• Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
• Follow client, company, and regulatory safety requirements.
