Job summary

Mistras Group, Inc. is seeking a Rope Access Blaster/Painter to perform abrasive blasting and coating preparations offshore in the Gulf of Mexico.

The role requires rope-access techniques, UHP blasting, and both spray and brush painting methods, with emphasis on safety and quality in harsh offshore environments. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of painting/blasting experience, offshore certifications preferred, and the ability to work on a rotational or call-out basis.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Three to five years of painting and/or blasting experience.
• Knowledge of SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards.
• Must pass background check and offshore safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently perform blasting and surface preparation activities in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
• Properly prepare surfaces for coating, including mixing and applying paint in accordance with Product Data Sheets (PDS), manufacturer application guidelines, and project specifications.
• Adhere to all applicable company practices, policies, procedures, and safety requirements while performing blasting and painting activities.
• Always utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times when performing blasting and painting operations.
• Maintain all tools and equipment in safe, clean, and good working conditions.
• Set up, operate, and maintain blasting equipment, spray guns, compressors, and related tools and equipment.
• Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and cleaning of tools and equipment.
• Identify and report defects, surface irregularities, damaged equipment, or other nonconformities.
• Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather and environmental conditions.
• Follow all client, company, and regulatory safety requirements.
