Job summary

Gulf Island Fabrication, Inc. seeks an offshore painting/blasting technician to operate and maintain spray and blast equipment, applying primer and finish coats to offshore structures in a Gulf of Mexico setting.

Responsibilities include safe handling of tools and safety gear, inspection of equipment, adherence to QA/QC and MSDS standards, and successful completion of pre-employment checks. Requires 2+ years offshore experience and a valid TWIC card.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in offshore blasting / painting.
• Must know how to use pressurized paint pots, blast pots, sandblasting hoses and nozzles.
• Must know how to read a wet and dry mill paint gauges.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Valid TWIC card

Responsibilities

• Operate painting and blasting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Clean and maintain related painting and blasting equipment and safety gear.
• Apply primer and paint coatings to required quality standards.
• Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.
• Follow company procedures and MSDS for safety and quality control.
