Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Marine Mechanical & Test Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience in marine operations, vessel systems, propulsion and structures. You will work on the off-shore recovery of the New Glenn booster, supporting safe handling and field-based testing while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The internship requires active undergraduate enrollment with at least one semester remaining, is 15 weeks full-time, and offers housing/relocation support.

Qualifications

• Interest in marine operations, vessel systems, or offshore engineering.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.
• Completed at least one year of full-time coursework post high school graduation (sophomore standing).
• Available to work full time for 15 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework.
• Ability to work in a hands-on, field-based environment

Responsibilities

• Hands-on internship with marine engineering projects including design, analysis and test of mechanical systems, propulsion and structures.
• Support off-shore recovery operations and safe handling of the booster and related systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop procedures, flight rules and safety controls.
