Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Marine Mechanical & Test Engineering intern to join our team on the Landing Platform Vessel projects. You will work under experienced engineers to support off-shore recovery of the New Glenn first stage booster, focusing on mechanical systems, propulsion, and structures.

Responsibilities include assisting with design, analysis and testing activities, contributing to safety controls, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable a reliable launch cadence and mission

Qualifications

• Interest in marine operations, vessel systems, or offshore engineering.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.
• Completed at least one year of full-time coursework post high school graduation at the time of application (obtained sophomore standing).
• Available to work full time for 15 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework.
• Ability to work in a hands‑on, field‑based environment

Responsibilities

• Support off-shore recovery of the New Glenn first stage booster from touchdown to port.
• Assist in developing procedures, real-time flight rules, and safety controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety and mission success.
