Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Marine Mechanical & Test Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience in applied marine engineering, including design, analysis and testing of mechanical systems, propulsion, and structures. You will support off-shore recovery of the New Glenn booster and work on procedures, real-time flight rules and safety controls with cross-functional teams.

The internship offers housing/relocation support; daily transportation is required.

Qualifications

• Interest in marine operations or offshore engineering.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• U.S. citizen/national or eligible status for visa/work in the U.S.
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with at least one semester remaining.
• Completed at least one year of post-high school coursework by application time.
• Available to work full time for 15 weeks while not enrolled in coursework.
• Hands-on, field-based work environment capability.

Responsibilities

• Projects may involve design, analysis and test of mechanical systems, propulsion, and structures.
• Interns gain hands-on experience in marine engineering.
• Support off-shore recovery operations from touchdown to port return on the LPV.
• Develop procedures, real-time flight rules and safety controls with cross-functional teams.
