Job summary

Dominion Energy is seeking an Offshore Instrumentation Technician to service, calibrate, install and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems for offshore wind operations and related substations. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and daily reporting in a dynamic offshore environment.

The candidate will work with advanced instrumentation, PLCs, and SCADA interfaces, maintaining data records and contributing to regulatory audits and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Mastery of AC and DC instrumentation theory and practical applications.
• Experience with SCADA and offshore operations.
• Ability to interpret schematics and control system designs.
• Calibrating, installing instrumentation systems.
• Knowledge of NERC standards and audits.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, service, repair, calibrate, and install indicating, recording, and automatic control instruments in a power station.
• Locate cause of defective performance and replace parts as required.
• Use portable pressure gauges, manometer, and other similar test equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and data logging.
• Test flue gas, read meters, and record data as required.
• Perform tuning tasks on single loop controls.
• Maintain and update drawings related to instrumentation.
• Responsible for offshore wind farms: maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, testing, calibration, and repair of instrumentation and control systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulatory standards (NERC) and contribute to daily logbooks.
• Lead in safety-conscious operations in offshore environment and ensure grid/compliance alignment.
