Job summary

Total Safety U.S., Inc. is seeking an H2S Technician to operate and maintain gas detection systems and breathing air safety equipment on land or offshore rigs where hazardous releases are possible.

You will perform daily checks, calibrations, fit testing, and inspections, work in diverse environments, and follow all safety policies to protect personnel and assets. This hands-on role requires documentation and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3–6 months H2S/upstream experience.
• Complete H2S Academy Training (H2S, SAFE GULF or SAFE LAND).
• First aid responder training preferred.
• State and OSHA regulations training.
• Customer service skills training.
• Trained to complete site inspections using SMART Inspections.

Responsibilities

• Assist in rigging and operating gas detection systems.
• Calibrate gas detection and perform daily/weekly/monthly checks.
• Do fit testing of personnel and inspect safety equipment.
• Follow Total Safety and customer policies and document tasks.
• Ensure air banks and SCBAs are charged and functional.
• Maintain orderly work area and assist with equipment servicing.
• Cross-train and assist others as needed.
