Graphite is a growing boutique finance, accounting & strategy firm built to help startups scale efficiently and sustainably. We were born out of a venture capital fund, ffVC, in NYC in 2008, supporting their early-stage portfolio of companies. In 2016, we expanded to work with the broader startup community. Our team comprises seasoned Entrepreneurs, CFOs, Investors, and Accountants with extensive startup accounting experience and a passion for growth. We have collaborated with innovative startups such as The Sill, Caraway, Settle, The Muse, and Finmark.

Experience required: 3 to 7 years in US/Global Finance with strong communication skills.

Shift Timings: Preferably EST timezone; shift from 6:30 pm IST to 2:30 am IST, negotiable.

Work Days: Monday to Friday (five days a week)

Work Location: Full-time, permanent remote/work from home

Equipment Required: Laptop provided by the company. Reimbursement up to $250 USD for additional monitor, mic, or headset. Candidates should have reliable internet and a dedicated workspace.

Responsibilities:

• Possess good knowledge of cash and accrual accounting methods.
• Hold an accounting degree (graduate/post-graduate) or relevant professional qualification.
• Comfortable communicating across all organizational levels, including managers, controllers, CFOs, and business owners.
• Familiar with US GAAP or other frameworks like IFRS or IND-AS.
• Experience with various accounting processes such as AP/AR, payroll, intercompany transactions, and month, quarter, and year-end closing.
• Ability to manage multiple clients while maintaining quality and adhering to turnaround times.
• Hands-on experience with daily accounting tasks: bank/credit card transactions, AP bills, AR invoices, fixed asset capitalization/depreciation, accruals, prepaid, and deferred revenue journal entries.
• Ability to understand customer contracts and set up sales invoices accordingly; knowledge of ASC 606, IFRS 15, or IND-AS 115 is a plus.
• Experience in filing US sales/use tax returns and claiming refunds.
• Prepare financial statements, cash flow statements, account analysis, and support during audits.
• Develop management reporting packages with supporting documentation.
• Support efforts to enhance customer experience.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online; familiarity with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Xero, Bill.com, Ramp, Brex is advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to multitask, work independently, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
