Job summary

Transocean is seeking a 3rd Assistant Engineer to assist in maintaining and repairing mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment aboard the vessel. The role reports to the 2nd Assistant Engineer and involves supervision of the Motor Operator, with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, preferred military discharge, and licenses/certifications relevant to marine engineering.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required for operating maintenance systems and records.
• Military discharge preferred for U.S. applicants.
• Graduate of Trade School or University is preferred if knowledge applies to job requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections and maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Assist in maintenance and repair of power plants, cooling water, lube oil and fuel systems.
• Assist in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic drilling equipment.
• Assist in maintaining marine equipment such as cranes, thrusters, ballast pumps and valves.
• Apply permit to work and isolation procedures as required.
