Job summary

Oliver Inc. in Fitchburg, MA is seeking a hands-on Offset Print Production Lead to manage a multi-color sheetfed press and a small press crew.

You will ensure color accuracy, registration, and overall print quality, while coaching the team and collaborating with leadership to optimize processes. The role requires 2+ years as a Lead Pressman on multi-color offset work, strong math and color vision, and experience with Mitsubshi presses, densitometers, and spectrophotometers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; strong English communication.
• Proficiency with fractions and decimals in math; accurate color vision.
• Basic computer literacy preferred.
• Minimum 2 years as Lead Pressman on multi-color offset printing.
• Experience with ink/water balance, color management, and registration control.

Responsibilities

• Safely produce premium paperboard packaging to customer specifications.
• Pre-job verification: review job orders, proofs, save sheets, LSDs, and production specs.
• Set up, tune, and operate a multi-color sheetfed offset press; maintain image placement and ink/water balance.
• Lead a press team (2nd Pressman and Feeder); coach and provide performance feedback.
• Monitor color with proofs, LSDs, densitometry, and scanning densitometers.
• Inspect work-in-process; troubleshoot quality and mechanical issues; apply corrective actions.
• Manage raw materials; minimize waste; return unused materials/documentation to storage.
• Document production data and save sheets for every run; ensure line clearance.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs to maximize uptime.
• Collaborate with Director of Print Technologies to improve quality and processes.
