Qualifications

• Familiarity with different paper weights, sizes, kinds and colors.
• Ability to read and interpret written work orders.
• Ability to adjust and maintain bindery machines and tools.
• Knowledge of folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills and binding/gluing machines.
• Mathematical ability for dimensional requirements in job orders.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate bindery machines and accessories.
• May set up automatic bindery machines with multiple functions.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues.
• Operate adhesive binding machines (perfect binders).
• Coordinate multi-station operations and make necessary adjustments.
• Direct crew through all production stages.
• Monitor quality, output and productivity.
• Train and mentor new and existing employees.
