Job summary

Software Placement Group in Duluth, MN is seeking a Robotic Automation & Weld Programmer to move beyond manual welding into offline programming for multi-axis robotic cells on a state-of-the-art plant floor. The role requires 3+ years programming robotic weld cells, experience with Robotmaster or MotoSim, and strong MIG welding skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years configuring, operating, and programming robotic weld cells.
• Experience with Yaskawa/Motoman YRC1000 is highly valued.
• Strong MIG welding and complete weld symbol literacy.

Responsibilities

• Develop, simulate, and proof collision-free offline programs using Robotmaster or MotoSim for complex weldments.
• Fine-tune robotic travel speeds, weld parameters, and patterns to maximize cycle efficiency and penetration.
• Serve as floor SME resolving motion faults and hardware communication issues.
• Inspect weldments to ensure compliance with blueprints and AWS codes.
• Train production operators on fixture loading and setup procedures.
• Oversee routine maintenance of robotic arms and consumables.
