Technique is seeking a Robotic Welding Technician / Programmer for our defense weld assembly plant in lower Michigan. The role welds and programs MIG/TIG cells, supports defense contracts, and advances through Level 1 and Level 2 competencies with increasing responsibility.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of industrial welding, experience with Motoman/Panasonic/Fanuc controllers, and offline programming skills (RoboGuide, RobotStudio).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of industrial welding experience
• Competency in Prototype Welding Technician Level 2 functions
• Hands-on experience with Motoman, Panasonic, or Fanuc robot controllers
• Verifiable offline programming experience (RoboGuide, RobotStudio, or equivalent) for Level 2
• Basic-to-advanced GD&T fluency, matched to level
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds
• Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout shift

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot from CMM reports
• Recover robot from faults and restart programs
• Adjust robot points and welding parameters
• Change programs from the PLC screen for production changeovers
• Apply intermediate GD&T to prints and inspections
• Change out fixtures for new jobs and programs
• Run and adjust robotic welders and set up new fixtures (Level 2)
• Prepare jobs with offline programming (OLP)
• Troubleshoot robot welders independently with OEM/Miller help
• Apply advanced GD&T to prints and layouts
• Drive process improvements using CMM data to achieve good first piece
