Responsible To: Director of Preschool Services/Assistant Director
Job Responsibilities
- Operates building door security buzzer in secure vestibule
- Maintains safety and security requirements before and after school hours
- Greets children and their parents warmly and with enthusiasm each morning and evening as they enter and exit the building.
- Follows all rules and regulations established with the Bureau of Children and Adult Licensing of the Michigan Department of Human Services
- Childcare subbing opportunities available during the school day
- Answering main phone line and general questions
- Reporting to billing when children have late pickups/early drop offs
- Assisting with laminating, cutting and other projects
- Maintaining spreadsheets and office paperwork as tasked
- MCIR-Michigan Children Immunization Record (yearly update and report)
- Give tours to interested families
- Helping with classroom behaviors/provide support to child and teaching staff
- Communicating staffing issues that may be brought to your attention to management
- Collecting and organizing incoming paperwork
- Assisting with enrollment
- Speaking with parents at drop off and pick up, problem solving minor issues and notifying management.
- Other responsibilities as requested
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time while buzzing families in the door
Job Qualifications
- Punctual and in attendance daily
- Comprehensive Background check, signed child abuse form and TB test on file at main office
- Biannually CPR and First Aid Training
- Must be able to adequately carry out all above mentioned job responsibilities
- Compatible with Director, Assistant Teacher and/or Caregivers
- Must be at least 16 years old
Work Conditions
12 month position
Work Day 7:15-10:00am/3:00-6:00pm
Hourly wage: $15.61-$18.42
Location: Barnes Early Childhood Center
Selection Procedure
Position will remain open until filled.
The successful candidate must meet the State standard for a clear criminal history and provide mandated fingerprint clearance.
Candidates hired for this position will be employed through www.EduStaff.org the educational staffing partner of the Grosse Pointe Public Schools, and will be required to complete a separate Edustaff application and orientation once an employment offer is received.
