This recruitment will be used to fill one full‑time Office Specialist 2 position for the Office of Admissions at Oregon State University (OSU). The Office of Admissions includes the recruitment of prospective students, responding to requests for admission, general information and processing applications from all persons seeking entry to Oregon State University. The purpose of this position is computer loading & maintaining document files for material received in the admission office pertaining to prospective students. Process, evaluate credentials, & maintain files of applicants for admission arriving to admit or deny status, applying state system, university & office regulations & requirements. Information is used for advising by campus faculty, high school, college counselors & students both prospective & current. These tasks are carried out within designated time frames. Occasional contact with frustrated or agitated people. Very high volume of computer data entry and desk work. All work is carried out under pressure of deadlines, fluctuating workload and changes in regulations, policies and procedures.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
Typical Office Hours M – F, 8am – 5pm. Remote or hybrid work is possible.
