  • Ability to analyze complex issues and situations, identify alternative solutions, forecast of consequences and recommend an effective course of action.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate with administrative management and academic constituencies.
  • Experience interpreting and communicating complex policies and procedures to stakeholders.
  • Experience working as a team member on projects and implementation of new initiatives.
  • Ability to promote policy and regulation equality and integrity in all work, ensuring diverse needs of OSU's students are appropriately addressed.

Job Summary

Department: Office of the Registrar. The Office of the Registrar is seeking an Assistant Registrar for Enrollment & Term Operations. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position. Academic Operations (Office of the Registrar, Curriculum Management & University Accreditation) is a mission-critical Oregon State University unit that supports student success from admission through graduation and beyond. We safeguard institutional integrity by managing academic records, enrollment and instructional services, accreditation, and academic policies. Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the institutional subject matter expert for National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) enrollment reporting, ensuring accurate, timely compliance reporting to the NSC and National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) in accordance with federal financial aid regulations and Department of Education requirements.
  • Manage and enhance enrollment reporting operations, including error resolution, data discrepancy investigations, reporting schedules, compliance monitoring, audit responses, and implementation of best practices to mitigate reporting risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Administration and configuration of term setup, including registration rules, holds, priority registration controls, special population processes, academic calendar deadlines, and testing of system upgrades and new functionality.
  • Oversee critical academic records and end-of-term processes, including grade submission, prerequisite enforcement, and student record updates related to administrative actions and academic regulations.
  • Collaborate with campus partners and external stakeholders, including the academic departments, and federal and state agencies to support student records and enrollment compliance initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a registrar's office or similar professional environment.

  • This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of one year of supervision experience.
  • Experience training or providing instructions to staff, students or stakeholders as a functional user and content expert.
  • Ability to work within an environment where ambiguity and the ability to pivot quickly are commonplace.
  • Experience coordinating all aspects of enrollment data reporting process with the National Student Clearinghouse.
  • Familiarity with the academic regulations and policies that pertain to student records and registration in higher education.
Working Conditions/Schedule

Typical office environment, 8 am-5 pm, Monday through Friday.

Salary Range

$60,700 -$67,000
