The North Dakota Retirement and Investment Office (RIO) is looking for an experienced Office Manager to lead the administrative operations that keep a growing organization running effectively. This role goes beyond traditional office administration. You'll coordinate facilities and office projects, strengthen records management, support agency operations, and help build the infrastructure RIO needs as it continues to grow. RIO operates in a fast-paced financial environment and supports the management of more than $30 billion in investments that help shape North Dakota's financial future. If you enjoy creating order, improving processes, managing multiple priorities, and taking ownership of important work, this may be the opportunity for you.

As RIO's Office Manager, You Will
  • Lead day-to-day office operations, including administrative processes, supplies, vendor services, invoices, onboarding and offboarding, and general office coordination.
  • Coordinate office space planning, construction, remodeling, facilities needs, security access, and workspace changes as RIO continues to grow.
  • Lead records management and retention activities, including helping transition agency records to SharePoint and supporting consistent filing and retention practices.
  • Manage the purchase, assignment, inventory, and lifecycle of agency equipment and furnishings while coordinating technology needs with NDIT and other partners.
  • Coordinate employee travel, agency events, and administrative support for the State Investment Board's Budget and Finance Committee, including meeting logistics, materials, minutes, and records.
  • Maintain emergency preparedness procedures, administrative documentation, and operational processes that help ensure the office remains efficient, organized, and prepared.

Within your first year, you will have the opportunity to make a visible impact by helping coordinate RIO's office build-out, advancing its records management program, strengthening office processes, and becoming a trusted operational resource across the agency.
