Job description

The North Dakota (ND) Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) has an opening for an Office Assistant II in its Bismarck, ND office.

The DMR oversees the Oil & Gas Division which regulates the drilling and production of oil and natural gas in ND, in a manner that realizes the greatest possible good from our state's vital natural resources; the Geological Survey Division which is the primary source of geological information in the state, publishing maps and reports on the mineralogical, paleontological, and geochemical resources; and the Paleontology Division which manages the public fossil dig program, and provides both scientific and educational fossil resources. Summary Of Work

As an Office Assistant II, you will play a key role in the Department of Mineral Resources mission by providing support for the Oil & Gas Division by answering incoming calls, responding to questions, providing information related to:

  • Explaining the fee service process
  • Well production data and information
  • Instructions on finding information on the Industrial Commission and Department of Mineral Resources websites.

Will also scan documents; maintain electronic and paper copies of well files; provide daily monitoring of printers and copiers for paper, and common office areas for supplies; make copies of well files for the public and send information to oil companies, field offices, and landowners as requested; greet and announce visitors.

you must be detail oriented, able to multi-task and prioritize work, while dealing with customers on the phone and in-person in a helpful, polite, and professional manner.

Minimum Qualifications

a high school diploma or GED and one year of office support, clerical, or secretarial work experience.

One year of coursework or a post-secondary education may substitute for work experience if it provides relevant knowledge and skills required to perform the duties of the Office Assistant II position.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Include being familiar with Microsoft Office Applications such as (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).

Annual Hiring Salary Range

$33,060 - $55,104 annually or $2,755 - $4,592 per month.
