Job summary

Ballard Marine Construction, based in Baltimore, MD, seeks an Office Engineer to support marine and heavy civil projects. You will partner with project managers, superintendents, and field crews to plan, schedule, estimate, and coordinate procurement, document control, and quality assurance to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering, with 1 year of field-ops experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering or related field required, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in field operations, project planning, estimating, scheduling, document control, procurement, or project coordination preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and analyze project schedules in P6; support contract time extensions.
• Analyze drawings, specs, survey data, and contracts to support pre-con work planning; perform basic engineering calculations.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs, estimates, and temporary works designs for budgeting and procurement; provide engineering support through pursuit to execution.
• Develop and audit QC plans; ensure QC requirements are captured during pursuit and implemented in operations.
• Travel to project sites and work in office/field environments as needed.
