TextQL in New York City is seeking a Mid-Level Operations & Finance professional to own the office and develop the operating stack. You’ll handle supplies, repairs, food, events, and the workspace vibe, while also building the systems underneath—documenting processes, onboarding, and vendor management.

Three quarters of this job is the office. Making sure every person here has what they need before they have to ask, and making the space somewhere people actually want to be. The other quarter is the systems underneath it: Rippling, the food vendors, and building the processes that don't exist yet. That part grows over time.
We're not looking for someone to execute a list we hand them. We're looking for someone who walks in, sees the six things that are wrong, fixes four of them that week, and tells us which two need a decision.
Engineers move desks here. CFO takes out the recycling. What we're actually asking for is ownership: if something's off and you noticed it, it's yours until it's fixed, whether that's a chair or a process nobody has written down.
The 75%: everyday operations
The 25%: the systems underneath
Starting with a handful and expanding as you earn it:
You won't arrive knowing all of it, and a lot of it is already automated. What we want is someone who isn't afraid to take control, call people out, learn new things, and make decisions.
This is a startup and the job is deliberately not fixed. The path we have in mind, if you want it: the office first, then the operating stack, then business operations more broadly. Budget, systems, whatever the company needs next that nobody currently holds. How fast that happens is set by you, not by a calendar.
Two things have to be true for it to happen. You have to be decisive and bring a recommendation, and be willing to be wrong in public. And you have to be reliable at the base layer first. Nobody gets handed the next thing while the coffee machine is still broken.
