Job summary

Augusta University is seeking an Administrative Support professional to join the College of Allied Health Sciences. The role provides administrative and operational support to CAHS administration, department chair, and faculty with planning, organizing and budget oversight in the Department of Speech and Pathology.

Responsibilities

  • Assist as Assistant Property Control Officer for the department, submitting Asset Management paperwork for relocation, transfer and/or surplus and maintaining inventory.
  • Oversee the department budget from all fund sources, purchase supplies, monitor reconciliations, and prepare requisitions and other budget amendments.
  • Process personnel actions for faculty, staff and students including ePars, employment requests, and initial employment documentation.
  • Provide calendar support, schedule meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and assist with program events.
  • Maintain department records and ensure compliance with AU and CAHS policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support administrative operations.

Job Summary

Provide administrative and operational support to CAHS administration, department chair and faculty by planning, organizing and budget oversight in the Department of Speech and Pathology.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Assistant Property Control Officer

Serve as Assistant Property Control Officer for the department. Submit Asset Management paperwork for relocation, transfer and/or surplus. Complete annual inventory audit and Equipment Loan Agreements. Maintain complete inventory listing to include computers, printers, fax machines etc.

Budget Management

Responsible for oversight of the department budget from all fund sources. Purchase office, teaching and research supplies, equipment and furniture etc. Monitor and update all department reconciliations. Prepare and submit requisitions, check requests, travel authorizations/ reimbursements and budget amendments. Monthly review of pre-payroll reports and distributions. Authorized user of purchasing card. Monitor and make recommendations regarding utilization of departmental resources and efficiencies.

Personnel

Responsible for the timely processing of personnel actions for faculty, staff and students to include but not limited to time and attendance, effort reporting, recruitment, etc. Initiate all personnel actions including ePars, employment requests, faculty/staff recruitment, and faculty/staff initial employment documentation

Administrative Support

Provide administrative support to the Chair, Faculty and students to include but not limited to calendar support, schedule meetings, prepare meeting agendas, meeting minutes, program events, etc.

Department Records

Responsible for the department record keeping. This position must follow AU and CAHS policies and procedures. Incumbent will serve as a resource to faculty and students regarding policy and procedures and must be knowledgeable of any changes.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized state or federal accredited organization required, with a minimum of nine years of progressively responsible office support experience
  • OR
  • Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of six years of progressively responsible office support experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five years or more experience with administrative and budgetary responsibilities in an academic program.

KNOWLEDGE

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and other computer software/databases.

Pay Grade: B5

Salary Minimum: $17.88/hour - Midpoint: $21.92/hour

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
