County of Colusa seeks an Office Assistant I - Extra Help to provide clerical, word processing, and data entry support for the Public Works department. You will assist the public with information about policies and procedures and help keep operations running smoothly.
This is a six-month, non-benefited assignment with a 960-hour annual cap for extra help employees. Salary placement is based on experience and is not to exceed typical internal scales.

In this position, you will keep things running smoothly by providing essential clerical, word processing, and data entry support while assisting the public with information about departmental policies and procedures.

Please note: This extra help assignment is anticipated to last approximately six (6) months but may end earlier or be extended based on the operational needs of the department. This is a non-benefited position, salary placement will be based on the selected candidate’s experience. Extra-Help employees may not exceed 960 hours worked in a fiscal year or 28 hours per week.This is the entry to journey level class within the Office Assistant series. Employees within this class perform the full range of duties as assigned. Employees at this level may receive moderate instruction or assistance and work toward becoming proficient in the procedures and policies of the assigned work unit.

Receives general supervision from supervisory or management staff.
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Six (6) months of administrative/clerical experience.
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
