The Wake County Child Support Office seeks a professional, highly organized, dependable, customer friendly, detailed oriented, flexible, team player to join our Team as an Administrative Assistant. Wake County seeks a dedicated professional to join our team as we partner with federal and state agencies, community organizations, and employers to promote parental responsibility. Our goal is not only to help children receive the support they need and deserve from parents, but to share resources with parents to address barriers preventing the payment of support.
The Office Assistant position performs administrative duties of a responsible and confidential nature for a large staff in a fast-paced environment. By working as a team player this position is expected to produce quality work with close attention to detail. It will independently perform a moderate variety of tasks within specific work guidelines. Most of the time is spent performing administrative duties for a functional team of 11, to include an Assistant County Attorney. The position requires general knowledge of office practices and procedures to review, verify, complete, and record general information in the Automated Collections Tracking System (ACTS). Duties within the public contact function involve interaction with clients, other employees and the public to gather, relay, and explain information to establish and update records or to determine eligibility for services.

Emergency Service Worker StatementIn the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency.
