  • Hazardous Materials Handling and related USDOT regulations within one year of hire (required).

Responsibilities

  • Conducts regular safety inspections of facilities and safety equipment to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Oversees general safety programs, collects and analyzes data, and maintains documentation.
  • Coordinates and conducts staff and volunteer training on safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Advises staff on safety compliance and escalates violations to leadership.
  • Coordinates fire, abduction and tornado drills for main campus and off-site locations.

Same day travel with minimal overnight stays required.Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.Job Description Summary:Conducts safety inspections and trainings to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all safety standards and regulations.Job Description:Essential Functions:Conducts regular safety inspections of the facilities and safety equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.Oversees general safety programs, collects and analyzes statistical data on safety, and ensures accurate documentation is maintained.Coordinates and conducts staff and volunteer training on safety protocols and emergency procedures.Advises staff on safety compliance and assists with any questions or issues. Escalates violations and non-compliance to appropriate leadership.Coordinates the performance of fire, abduction and tornado drills for main campus and off-site locations.Education Requirement:Associate's Degree in Healthcare Safety, Environmental Safety, Fire Science, related field, equivalent professional experience in lieu of a formal degree, required.Licensure Requirement:Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position-specific requirements.
