Job summary

General Motors in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Technical Operations Specialist to support production maintenance and problem solving of manufacturing equipment.

You will work in a lean manufacturing environment, collaborate with a team, and provide hands-on electrical and mechanical expertise including conveyors, robots, PLCs, and vision systems.

This onsite role may include weekend/off-shift coverage and relocation benefits.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or four-year apprenticeship completed.
• 8+ years as maintenance technician/electrician.
• Familiarity with high-volume automotive manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on conveyors, robots, and tooling.
• Implement preventative and predictive maintenance per schedule.
• Support process upgrades, new installations, and equipment upgrades.
• Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment in a lean environment.
• Work shifts including second or third shift as required.
• Provide hands-on technical expertise to optimize production equipment.
