Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation of America is seeking a Design Engineer E2 to support the TVPD design department. You will create and improve parts and systems for off-road vehicles, using 3D/2D CAD and BOM management under Design Managers.

Strong problem-solving and hands-on testing experience are preferred. The role emphasizes design feasibility, cost targets, and collaboration with multiple groups, with 95% office time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of experience in developing parts and systems for consumer products such as recreational vehicles or automotive.
• Experience with consumer metal parts design is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design and development of parts from concept to production.
• Design parts, assemblies, and vehicles in 3D CAD to pass tests and meet cost targets.
• Verify design feasibility through FEA methods.
• Create 2D drawings for quotation and fabrication.
• Conduct design engineering research and organize information to support the best design concept.
• Brainstorm ideas to solve development issues and create new designs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other groups and vendors while championing projects.
• Meet testing requirements and milestone timelines.
• Provide project status presentations to executives as needed.
