Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation of America is seeking a Design Engineer E2 to support the TVPD Design Department. The role focuses on creating and improving parts and systems for off-road recreational vehicles, using 3D CAD, 2D drawings, and BOM under engineering supervision.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering background with 2–3 years’ experience in consumer product development, and familiarity with NX CAD is preferred.

SUMMARY

The Design Engineer E2, TVPD Design Department, provides design support resulting in the creation and/or improvement of parts and/or systems to achieve certain targets for off-road recreation vehicles regarding function, performance, durability, weight reduction, cost reduction, ease of manufacturing and so on, through engineering study and creating 3D CAD models, 2D CAD drawings, and BOM under the direction of Design Managers.

• Typical parts/components that the Design Engineer E2 at YMMC TVPD develops:
  • Chassis welded and/or bolt-on connected with many steel tubes, forgings, and stamped parts.
  • Suspension and steering components including tires and wheels
  • Driver controls such as steering wheels, pedals, levers, and switches

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the design and development parts for the recreational vehicle consumer product market from concept to production.
• Design & Engineer parts, assemblies, and vehicles on 3D CAD to pass required testing and meet cost targets.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Ideal candidate should have minimum 2~3 years of experience in the development of parts and systems for a complex consumer product, such as recreational vehicles or Automotive.
• Experience with consumer metal parts design is strongly preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT/REQUIREMENTS

95%-100% of time spent in office environment.
