Job summary

Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation of America is seeking a Design Engineer E2 to support the TVPD Design Department. The role focuses on creating and improving parts and systems for off-road recreational vehicles, using 3D CAD, 2D drawings, and BOM under engineering supervision.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering background with 2–3 years’ experience in consumer product development, and familiarity with NX CAD is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong project management skills required.
• Strong design problem solving skills related to testing difficulties preferred.
• Hands on vehicle building & testing experience preferred.
• Experience using Siemens NX CAD software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design and development parts for the recreational vehicle consumer product market from concept to production.
• Design & Engineer parts, assemblies, and vehicles on 3D CAD to pass required testing and meet cost targets.
• Verify design feasibility through FEA methods.
• Create 2D drawings for quotation and fabrication.
• Conduct design engineering research and organize information to support the best design concept.
• Brainstorm ideas to problem solve development issues or create the best new designs.
• Work cross functionally with other groups, departments or companies while championing projects.
• Meet testing requirements and testing maturity timeline.
• Periodically give project status presentations to executives according to stage gate process.
