Job summary

Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation of America seeks an Electrical Engineer to lead the development of electrical systems, components and software for Yamaha vehicles. You will create 3D/2D CAD data, support validation, manage BOMs, and coordinate with vendors and cross-functional teams to ensure design targets and manufacturing goals are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 yrs industry experience related to job responsibilities.
• Experience with 3D CAD data creation and electrical component development.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and communication abilities.
• Experience with electrical harness creation and PCB design/testing.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D and 2D CAD data for electrical components/systems with minimal direction from project manager and PD management.
• Manage development of electrical components/systems/software designed and developed by companies contracted by YMMC PD to adhere to project targets and Yamaha quality standards.
• Create / manage BOM structures related to electrical components/systems as dictated by project specifications.
• Propose electrical components/systems for the improvement of Yamaha vehicles developed at YMMC.
• Order prototype samples related to electrical components/systems to match the project schedule and plan with minimal input from project manager and PD management.
• Self-directed Problem solving of the proto design/samples if they didn’t work as intended.
• Communicate with cross-functional members to ensure the parts/systems meet their expectations.
• Self-directed communication with vendors & suppliers for production/prototype part issues/concerns
