Job summary

Belk is seeking an experienced Off-Price Buyer to lead strategic merchandising for outlet channels in a fast-paced environment. You will own assortment planning, vendor negotiations, and in-season adjustments to maximize sales, margin and turns while delivering value-focused, on-brand merchandise.

The role requires 7–9 years of retail experience with 1–3 years in buying, a Bachelor's degree, and strong negotiation, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute merchandise strategies and assortment plans to deliver financial goals.
• Proactively identify trends and leverage liquidity to test new ideas for sales and margin growth.
• Analyze business by store, department and class to find opportunities in sales, inventory and margin.
• Lead vendor meetings and market trips to respond quickly to trends.
• Collaborate with Planner and Allocator during planning and revisions; drive in-season changes.
• Negotiate costs, delivery terms, and manage product placement and pricing tasks.
• Build and lead a high-quality merchandising team and partner with vendors.
