Job summary

Aperia is seeking a Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) to be the primary liaison between our manufacturing sites and automotive OEM customers in Hayward, CA. You will investigate concerns, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement across quality processes.

In this role, you will lead 8D investigations, coordinate APQP/PPAP submissions, develop PFMEA and Control Plans, monitor quality metrics, and support IATF 16949 within the QMS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in automotive quality engineering or a Tier-1 supplier environment.
• Strong working knowledge of automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
• Detailed understanding of IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3 quality management systems.
• Experience navigating OEM customer portals.
• Ability to travel up to 25%

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary liaison between manufacturing facilities and OEM customers.
• Lead 8D investigations and corrective actions.
• Coordinate APQP and PPAP submissions to customers.
• Create PFMEA and Control Plans for products.
• Monitor customer quality metrics and report defects.
• Drive continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
• Author and execute CARs/SCARs.
• Analyze data with Excel, Minitab and prepare quality reports.
• Train quality and manufacturing teams.
• Support IATF 16949 implementation in the QMS.
• Participate in special projects supporting quality, manufacturing, and engineering.
