Job summary

Ziegler CAT in Minnesota is seeking a Customer Service Engineer in the OEM division. You will provide engineering support to OEM customers and Ziegler Power Systems Sales personnel, collaborating with customers' engineering teams to design CAT engines into chassis.

The role requires initiative, strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, and up to 25% travel. You will lead field support, develop engine packages, and coordinate with customers on installations and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 4+ years of engineering experience.
• Strong electrical engineering knowledge and mechanical aptitude.
• Electrical power, electrician, generator or engine experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Partner with customer to define total requirements.
• Analyze power system needs with customer engineers; propose solutions.
• Compile data to help customers decide on engines.
• Participate in technical sales calls and presentations.
• Negotiate commercial aspects of assigned accounts.
• Package 3D drawings of engines and components for customers.
• Lead field support for OEM integrations and testing.
• Perform field audits on installed engine systems.
• Manage customer engine inventory, forecasts and orders.
• Document engine specifications for each customer.
• Monitor accounts payable/receivable to stay current.
