OEM Business Development Manager - Pumps

Reporting Line

This position reports to the OEM Director of Sales - Pumps.

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing new OEMs in the pump applications area. This includes strategic and tactical activities such as formulating and executing account strategies to foster profitable growth and increase our market penetration. The role is remote, contributing to the Motion Drive Products division in New Berlin, WI. Your main responsibilities include:

  1. Developing solution sales activities and demand generation for Low Voltage Drives and PLCs at key OEM accounts.
  2. Maintaining OEM pursuit reports and account summaries.
  3. Driving sales activities and account plans via SFDC.
  4. Achieving sales targets and developing the account pipeline.
  5. Collaborating with application engineers and other divisions to develop sales opportunities.
  6. Coordinating with global teams and LSUs for OEM activities.
  7. Negotiating offers and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
  8. Monitoring industry trends, market dynamics, and identifying opportunities and threats.
  9. Supporting product management and marketing with value propositions.
  10. Ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
  11. Providing input on product pipeline based on customer needs.
  12. Finalizing contract negotiations with OEMs, collaborating with legal, finance, and operations teams.
Qualifications
  • Associates degree or higher, preferably in engineering, business administration, or similar.
  • 8+ years of relevant sales/business development experience with variable speed drives, motors, and automation solutions.
  • Knowledge of OEM revenue models and go-to-market strategies.
  • Customer interface experience and understanding of customer needs.
  • Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, and SFDC.
  • Proven sales record in competitive markets.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills, with ability to close high-value deals.
  • Strategic thinking with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically; international travel is rare.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Must have valid work authorization for the US; ABB cannot sponsor visas at this time.

Base salary is between $98,700 and $183,300 annually, with bonus eligibility.
