Job summary

Cox Enterprises in Tampa, FL seeks a Quality Control Body Repair Tech II to ensure OEM quality on repaired and refinished panels after paint. You will buff, polish and refine textures using abrasives, buffers and SOPs.

This role requires attention to color match, safe handling of chemicals, and adherence to safety procedures. Success depends on prior buffing or body shop experience, a valid respirator test, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2–5 years buffing experience or body shop/repair experience preferred.
• Valid respirator Fit Test.
• Paint Training Certification as defined in HAPS 6H regulation.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
• Physical ability to lift 1–15 pounds and perform repetitive motions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect refinished body panels for proper color match and finish texture.
• Prepare surface for buffing using proper finish sanding products and technique.
• Restore refinish panels to OEM quality using rotary buffer, buffing technique, compounds and polishes defined in SOP.
• Inspect remaining vehicle surfaces for overspray and remove as needed.
• Remove and clean all residue from buffed panels and inspect finish quality.
• Follow safety procedures and actively participate in safety activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
