Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Reconditioning Service Technician II at our Tampa location. Schedule: 8am–5pm, Monday–Friday.

This is a non-remote, on-site role with hourly pay between $16.59 and $24.86, depending on location and candidate knowledge and abilities, and potential additional compensation or incentives. You will ensure OEM quality on repaired/refinished panels after paint, using finishing abrasives, buffing equipment and compounds, and you will follow SOPs to refine panel finish texture

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2–5 years buffing experience or body shop/repair background preferred.
• Valid respirator fit test required.
• Paint Training Certification as defined in HAPS 6H.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
• Regularly stand, walk, reach, talk and hear; capable of light lifting.

Responsibilities

• Inspect refinished body panels for color match and finish texture; report issues.
• Prepare surface for buffing using proper finish sanding products and techniques.
• Restore refinish panels to OEM quality using rotary buffer, compounds, and polishes per SOP.
• Inspect for overspray on other vehicle surfaces and remove as needed.
• Remove and clean residue; ensure finish quality meets standards.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in Safety Excellence activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
