Job summary

Cox in Tampa, FL is seeking a Quality Control Body Repair Tech II to ensure OEM-quality appearance on repaired/refinished panels after paint application. You will refine finishes using abrasives, buffing equipment and SOP-guided compounds, and de-logo as required.

The role demands adherence to SOPs, strong attention to color match and finish texture, and active involvement in safety and quality control within a dynamic body shop environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2 - 5 years of buffing experience or body shop/repair experience preferred.
• Valid respirator Fit Test.
• Paint Training Certification as defined in HAPS 6H regulation.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
• Regularly stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
• Ability to lift 1-15 pounds; good dexterity and vision.

Responsibilities

• Inspect refinished body panels for proper color match and finish texture.
• Prepare surface for buffing using proper finish sanding products and technique.
• Restore refinish panels to OEM quality with buffer and SOP-defined compounds.
• Inspect remaining surfaces for overspray and remove as needed.
• Remove and clean residue from buffed panels and inspect finish quality.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in safety activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
