Job summary

Saint-Gobain is seeking an Application Engineer III on the OEM Team to lead technical projects for North American customers. You will combine hands-on engineering, customer engagement, and commercial insight to influence specifications and deliver value through abrasive products, processes, and systems.

You will collaborate with Sales, Product Management, R&D, Marketing, and Manufacturing to move projects from scope through testing, validation, implementation, and documentation, while traveling

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Five+ years of experience in abrasive application engineering.
• Five+ years in Sales or Product Management with abrasives knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and lab/production environments.
• Ability to travel ~50% to customer sites and centers.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex customer application projects: plan, execute evaluations, trials, and testing for OEMs and priority markets.
• Translate needs into solutions: define project requirements and align abrasive system recommendations with specifications.
• Validate and communicate value: develop technical docs, analyses, and presentations showing performance and value.
• Build strategic customer relationships: engage with end users, OEMs, and technology partners to identify opportunities.
• Shape technical strategy with leaders and partners to defend existing business and grow market share.
• Advance technology: translate customer needs into new product characteristics and support IP creation.
• Develop others: train internal and external teams on abrasive products and application technology.
