Job summary

GCX is seeking a Principal Engineer, OEM Products, to drive all aspects of new product development for OEM customers. You will perform static and dynamic FEA on assemblies and components, develop tests, and create engineering documentation while mentoring junior engineers.

You will analyze customer proposals, define requirements, and collaborate with marketing, sales, and engineering to define concepts, costs, and timelines for quotes.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering with 15+ years in product development and design transfer.
• Demonstrated ability to lead engineering projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Extensive experience with FEA, injection molding, extrusion, sheet metal and casting design.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, verify, and validate OEM product designs to meet customer needs.
• Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with PMO on plans, timelines and costs.
• Perform static and dynamic FEA across assemblies, sub-systems and components.
• Engage with marketing, sales, and customers to define concepts and requirements.
• Provide technical expertise and act as lead advisor on strategic opportunities.
• Address customer feedback and drive cost reduction efforts.
