Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field, or automotive equivalent.
  • 5+ years in automotive account management, sales, or business development.
  • Experience with automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Strong knowledge of RFQ, quotation, pricing, and program launches.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned automotive OEM and Tier 1 customer accounts.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships across purchasing, program management, operations, quality, supply chain, and executive leadership functions.
  • Drive customer satisfaction, retention, and account growth through proactive relationship management and regular customer engagement.
  • Lead customer business reviews, account planning activities, and ongoing commercial discussions.
  • Coordinate customer quotations, pricing updates, engineering changes, contract renewals, and ongoing production support activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer concerns and ensure successful execution of customer programs.
  • Partner with operations, quality, engineering, supply chain, finance, and program management teams to support customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Monitor customer strategies, sourcing activity, market trends, and future business opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to expand business within existing customer accounts and support targeted new business initiatives.
  • Maintain customer account plans, business forecasts, and commercial communications.
  • Support customer visits, plant tours, executive meetings, and relationship-building activities.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced OEM Account Manager - Automotive to manage and strengthen strategic relationships with automotive OEM customers and Tier 1 suppliers.

This highly visible customer-facing role is focused primarily on maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships, serving as the key commercial contact for assigned accounts, and ensuring long-term customer satisfaction, business retention, and profitable account growth.

Approximately 75% of the role is dedicated to strategic account management, customer relationship development, commercial support, and account retention. The remaining 25% focuses on identifying and pursuing growth opportunities within existing and prospective customer accounts.

The successful candidate is a relationship-focused professional who enjoys building long-term partnerships, understanding customer needs, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.

This individual is comfortable managing strategic customer accounts, working cross-functionally to solve problems, and identifying opportunities for sustainable business growth. While experience supporting commercial activities and new opportunities is important, the primary focus of this role is maintaining and growing existing customer relationships.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent automotive industry experience
  • 5+ years of automotive account management, sales, commercial, customer-facing, or business development experience
  • Experience working directly with automotive OEMs and/or Tier 1 suppliers
  • Strong understanding of automotive sourcing, RFQ, quotation, pricing, and program launch processes
  • Experience supporting contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and commercial agreements
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills
  • Strong problem-solving and customer advocacy capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple customer accounts, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM tools
Preferred Industry Experience

The ideal candidate will bring experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Automotive OEMs
  • Powertrain systems
  • Electrification and EV technologies
  • Driveline and transmission systems
  • Chassis or vehicle systems
  • Engineered automotive components and assemblies
  • Industrial or manufacturing environments supporting automotive customers
  • Approximately 15% to 25% travel required
  • When not traveling, this position is expected to work on-site
  • Core collaboration hours are 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Target base salary range is at 150K (based on experience) , plus bonus, monthly car allowance, benefits day 1!
